Foster got a 10 in Rugby League Week for Western Suburbs during their 25-14 win over St George at Lidcombe Oval on April 2 1978.Foster is the only Western Suburbs player to ever get a 10 in Rugby League Week.

Geoff was from griffith in NSW a policeman, he was as tough as nails and came to sydney as a centre, after trialing with canterbury he was cut and found a home with the mighty magpies. A great club man and produced some magnificient games for the magpies.

As a Western Suburbs supporter a favourite player of mine . A tragedy he never represented Austalia. In my opinion a great forward who would gain a spot in any team past or current.

I lived in Coleambally when Geoff coached Coly/Darlington Point RLFC and achieved fantastic results for that club. A man who trained hard and played hard.

Gethro should have been selected in the Kangaroo Squad to tour in 1978. The Poms would have not been keen with him in the team. Never seen a rugby league player with more mongrel in his game. Tough as they come and bloody fit too. The Griffith Waratah club should be very proud of their first local junior to represent country.

One of my all time favourite Magpies. Tough as teak and fit as a Mallee bull.
