Despite finishing below North Brisbane on the ladder, Ipswich A advanced into the finals due to the fact a large number of Norths players had switched clubs to line up for South Brisbane United, leaving Norths unable to field a team. Ipswich A were unable to field a side anyway and so Ipswich B effectively won by two forfeits (one to Norths and one to Ipswich A)
