Match Notes
West Wyalong protested, stating that Cowra fielded ineligible players - White and O'Neill. They also alleged that Cedric Coble was listed to play but it was his brother Lawrence who took his place. These claims angered some of the Cowra players who threatened to throw the Maher Cup trophy into the Lachlan River. A Cowra official, upon hearing this threat, immediately went and locked the trophy in a bank vault. Group 9 officials met a few days later and sided with West Wyalong - Neil Pollock
