Biography

One of seven brothers to play for Otahuhu, Joe Ropati made his Test debut as a winger in NZ's shock 19-12 win over Australia at Lang Park in 1983. Ropati played for Warrington in 1986-89 and was in the centres against Australia in the 1986 Trans-Tasman series, however his two seasons with Manly were fairly uninspired. He later returned to England to play for Swinton in 1989-91. He appeared in 9 Tests for the Kiwis between 1983 and 1987.
