DICK MULHERON WAS MY MATHS TEACHER IN THE EARLY 60S AT SYDNEY TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL AT HURSTVILLE.TALL LANKY WINGER FOR CANTERBURY.USED TO COACH OUR UNION TEAM.QUITE AN ACCOMPLISHED GOALKICKER BEFORE THE ADVENT OF THE ROUND THE CORNER KICKERS OF TODAY.A PRETTY STRICT TEACHER IN THE DAYS OF THE CANE OF WHICH I CERTAINLY GOT MY SHARE.

I was also taught maths by Dick in the early 60s at Tech High. I have to say he was a great help preparing me for the Leaving Certificate maths. On Mondays after the weekend football however he was a touch grumpy and having the odd bandaid on his face. We kept a low profile until the end of the week when Dick would lighten up

Just written a few notes for my daughter who asked about my high school teachers. Included in that summary is comment about how Dick Mulheron rescued my failing mathematics and got me through the Leaving Certificate. Better than that, he renewed an interest in maths which has continued to this day.

Dick Mulheron rescued me from a mathematics dilemma. Got me over the line for the LC. Better than that, left me with an interest in maths for the rest of my life.
