Roger Ludkin came to the Illawarra District Rugby League in the 1967 season and played for the Collegians RLFC under the coaching of 1963 Kangaroo tourist Kevin Smyth. Roger played centre in the 1967 grand final in which Collegians defeated Port Kembla 16 - 4.

A slight correction here, Roger played five-eighth and Collegians defeated Port Kembla 12-4

Ludkin was a key member of the Gundagai Maher Cup team in 1963 and 1964

We lived at Kellyville. My cousin Susan used to go out with him. The last time I saw him was many years ago. I saw him at the SCG playing for Country.I said to him,who are you against, He said Reg Gasier.
