Biography

Diminutive halfback played in Souths' grand final loss to St George in front of a record SCG crowd in 1965. Jones was also a member of the Rabbitoh side that defeated C’bury in the 1967 grand final, 12-10.

    mr jones you are the fisrt south sydney player i think of from when i was a child .you werer my hero and you still are you show that red & green spirit and hang to watch the mighty south sydney win the comp for the first time in 40 odd years .

    god bless you for all the great memories you have given me .

    Ivan Jones was a very polite and softly spoken man; a real gentleman.
    The front bar at the Cauliflower Hotel in Waterloo is named after him.

    Was it a different Ivan Jones who played for South’s Brisbane in the 1963 grand final against Norths
