The year Peter walked off the field during the grand final that his club was winning at half time. And then subsequently lost as the league says he went walk about. That story is not entirely factual. He gad permission from his club. He sister wedding was on I was there when she married an white Australian air pilot. I was there as an 11 year old girl heping my mother and the other women from the local Country Women's Association (CWA) cater for his sisters wedding reception held in the old church at St Augustine's Catholics Schools grounds. As I have been living outside this country for a long time. I have only just learnt about how much he was vilified by the club and the fans afterwards. They had no right then and do not still.

Grew up with Peter in Coffs Harbour and he was the most naturally gifted attacking player I ever saw.
