Peter Wynn

The older brother of Graeme Wynn joined P’matta from Thirroul in the I’warra competition and represented NSW in his first season in Sydney. Peter Wynn then suffered a discouraging series of injuries in the early 1980s and missed the club's first grand final success in 1981 with a serious knee injury. In a match against Cronulla the lock suffered a severe head injury in a heavy tackle and was ruled out for 14 weeks. He was a reserve in Parramatta's second premiership win in 1982 but the following year was playing only his 14th game in three seasons when he took the field in the grand final against Manly. Wynn was one of the Eels' best forwards in the 18-6 win. In 1985 Wynn played for NSW before being selected for Australia on the tour of NZ. He played in three Tests against the Kiwis that year but suffered another head injury and was listed as a reserve in P’matta’s grand final win in 1986. He continued on for another four seasons and held the position as Parramatta 'club' captain (as opposed to first grade captain) when he retired. Wynn also served a period as a member of the NSWRL Judiciary during the 1990s.
