Biography
Brisbane junior came into his own as halfback of the Melbourne Storm in 2006 following the departure of Matt Orford. Tutored by former international Matt Johns Cronk played a pivotal role as halfback and chief playmaker of the Storm team as the club captured the minor premiership and qualified for its first grand final since 1999.

Cooper Cronk is a good player and it will be to see how he plays in a differant side as he has allways played outside the great Cameron Smith in all his senior career including club games and rep games. His inclusion in the roosters club has allready caused problems around the halves area for them.

Its interesting that the only SOO series NSW won for a long time came when Cronk was out injured. I dont think people really understand how great a player he is. He may have been in the shadow of Smith, Slater, Inglis and Thurston at SOO level but was at least as good and probably better than them.

Interesting that the only SOS series NSW won before the great QLD team aged and fell apart was when Cronk was out injured in 2014. He contributed more to that team than many realise.

9 NRL grand finals for 6 wins. Incredible stat. It appeared to me that on field Cronk was co-captain with Smith. Smith would be lining up for a kick at goal (or challenging the ref decision), and Cronk would be the one getting the team refocused and organised for the restart. To my thinking, commentators didn’t give Cronk the recognition he deserved until he left Melbourne for his last two very successful seasons with Easts.
