Biography

After making his first grade debut in 2001, this Brisbane forward missed the club’s grand final win against the Roosters because of injury. The following year, in his first full season of first grade, Meyers represented Queensland and Australia in the one-off Test match against NZ in July. Although his Test debut was soured when he was heavily concussed in a high tackle early in the first half the red-headed second rower played against Papua New Guinea in October before flying out on the shortened Kangaroo Tour. In England, Meyers played in Australia’s wins in the Second and Third Test, coming off the interchange bench on both occasions. In the ensuing seasons, Meyers struggled for consistency with his club form and further rep honours did not eventuate. He joined the Bradford Bulls for the 2005 English Super League season.
