Richie coached my school cricket team at Stafford Heights State School in the early seventies which I was lucky enough to captain.
Richie’s desire to coach cricket was shown by him sharing his personal value’s through him putting extra time with me bowling his left arm swing. This taught me a lot about the game as well as competitive life skills. I know Richie cared about each person he taught. Would like to catch up one day to say a simple thanks for him being a part of my life.

He was also a member of the 1969 Queensland team that played in Sydney and Newcastle. He did not run on, as only two reserves were allowed then and he was number 17. Still good to be selected in the forwards at 19/20.

Richie Twist was my english teacher at Sandgate High School back in the late 70s. English was the only subject I enjoyed during my time there. I was a pretty bad student but he was patient, considerate and inspiring. He always somehow got the best out of me.

Richie Twist was my 4th grade teacher at Stafford Heights Primary back in 1973..
What a wonderful teacher and wonderful memories.
He also taught me how to high jump.
It would be so lovely to let him know still after all these years, that he has never been forgotten, and was an amazing mentor. Thank you Mr Twist.

Had Richie as our teacher at Bracken Ridge State School in the 70's. Was always happy to see us and whenever we didn't want to learn we ask about his football days and what felt like an hour later it was time for break or home time. He really loved to reminisce time and time again. Champion bloke.

Mr Twist was my year 4 teacher at Stafford Heights Primary back in 1972. He was a great teacher and a very champion player for Wests. (Sorry I was a Valley's supporter and junior player.) He got me interested in sport and for my mind and body that was a very good thing. (I was a very chubby and timid 9 year old) It opened up my world and gave me great confidence.
Mr Twist will always be a champion in my books.
Thank you
