good to see that the big bloke is still recognised as one of the great goal kickers of all time

"The Boot", as he was known in his football days, or as we affectionately knew him, "Big Pete", passed away in 1997 while awaiting a heart transplant. He was named at fullback in the best rugby league team of Ipswich players in 2020.

Peter kicked the greatest field goal ever at Lang Park playing for Norths. He was a metre or two inside his own half and a few metres in from touch and sent it sailing through the northern end goal posts.
Better that Nathan Cleary’s field goal last weekend which was excellent.
Id love to know if Peter remembers it. I do!
