In 1979.Prickett was Rugby League Weeks Brisbane player of the year.When playing for the Western Suburbs Panthers.

Gary was perhaps one of the best hookers in the game in his day and if wests were in possession close to the line Gary would score a try; he was an expert at it. An all round great guy and one of my Wests Panthers favourites.

Gary unfortunately passed away in the last couple of days ...condolences to his family ...Rugby League has lost one of its finest unsung players RIP Gary

He was my teacher at Mooloolaba State School, and we were huge fans of him both as a teacher and league legend. RIP Gary Prickett

Mr Prickett was my grade 4 teacher in 1977 in Everton Park, we loved him dearly, a great, decent caring man.
