Biography

Reserve forward in Balmain's loss to C’bury in 1988 was a member of the club's forward pack in the controversial loss to Canberra in extra-time in the 1989 grand final. Edmed’s career was winding down at Balmain when he was the recipient of a huge offer from Super League to play for Nth Queensland in 1966. He subsequently played for English club Sheffield in 1997.

    I coached Steve in the tweed heads Seagulls junior league teams. when he was 9 and10 years old .he could kick goals from the side line bare footed.j

    Big feller with a high work rate. Not the most reliable with ball in hand but able to make hard yards all the same.

    hard worker and extremely talented, great bloke, gained heaps of meters and should have played origin

    Steve played at Sheffield Eagles when I was involved. Great guy, a good team player and a pleasure to be around. Steve was unlucky to have left Sheffield at the end of season before Sheffield demolished heavy favourites Wigan, to win the Challenge Cup at Wembley Stadium.
