Biography
Cronulla junior went to Wollongong Wests in the early 1970s to kick-start his career under coach Warren Ryan. A centre/winger, Mullane represented NSW Country in 1974 before commencing a long career with Cronulla. He shifted to C’bury in the late 1970s before returning to the Sharks. The Bulldogs gave him another chance in 1984 and he was rewarded with a late run in the club’s grand final win over P’matta. Replacing an injured Terry Lamb late in the match, he gave away a penalty (for lying on a player in the tackle) that gave Mick Cronin a chance to tie the match. Luckily for the Bulldogs (and Mullane) the goal went astray.
