Biography

C’bury junior (Chester Hill) was graded as an 18-year-old by the Bulldogs in 1976. A rugged prop with bushranger looks, Robinson earned the man-of-the-match award in his first grade debut in an Amco Cup match against Toowoomba in 1977. Robinson appeared in C’bury’s winning grand final team in 1980 and later played for Halifax with Chris Anderson in 1985. He appeared in over 200 grade games with the Bulldogs and after retiring, coached the club's U’23s to the premiership in 1991.

Awesome coach. Not surprising when one considers who he played under at Canterbury.

When I was a kid, my nan used to take me and my brother and sister to Belmore oval to watch the berry"s play. My nan was a life member and my pa used to repair all the boots after their games back in the day. I loved so much watching the trains slow down to catch a glimpse of the game and watching how fearless Robbo was. I loved how Robbo played. The berries/doggies what a wonderful era that was. RIP Robbo.
