Biography
Tough Kiwi Test prop, a member of NZ’s 1967 squad that toured Australia, played in three Tests for his country, all against Australia. Noonan was signed by C’bury secretary Peter Moore (almost as an after-thought) when Moore and club captain Kevin Ryan travelled to NZ to check out local forward Graham Cooksley. Noonan, who set himself exacting standards of physical fitness, brought a hardened edge to the C’bury forward pack in the early 1970s. He played in the club's 1974 grand final loss to Easts but shifted to Newtown at the end of the decade as part of the club's rebuilding program.
