Matt also played with the Magpies.

Matt was best known as a rugged, tackling centre. What was often overlooked was that he had fantastic hands. He could take a pass off his bootlaces at top speed. In his youth, he was mentored by the great Wallaby, Brother Terry Curley, at St Joseph’s College. Matt was a great mate with a brilliantly evil sense of humour.
