Biography
Rugged Great Britain prop came to Castleford from the Stanley Rangers (Wakefield) amateur club at age 20. Ward's form for Great Britain against the 1986 Kangaroos brought him to the attention of the Manly club and he came to Australia the following season. Although having to return to England toward the end of the season, he was flown back to play in Manly's grand final win over Canberra in 1987 and produced a tireless display in the hot conditions. Ward returned to Australia the following year with the Lions and played in all three Tests as well as representing the ‘Rest of the World’ team that lost to Australia. The 30-year-old prop stayed on to finish the 1988 season with Manly and two years later, was used as a reserve forward in the Ashes series against the Kangaroos. Ward joined St Helens in 1990, where he finished his career in the early 1990s.

Kevin was one of the toughest poms to come to australia, without him in my opinion Manly would not have made let alone win the 87 grand final, thanks Big Kev , from an appreciative Manly fan......
