Michael was Gladstone Junior who played junior Central Queensland and Schoolboys.
As a “senior” player he won 2 A Grade Premierships with Valleys in Gladstone and under the famous Artie Beetson at Redcliffe.
He also played against the touring Great Britain side in 1984 where he scored (1) try.
Was selected in the 100 year combined Gladstone and Callide Valley team of the Century.
Michael also represented Australia in the 100m / 200m and 400m Sprints at the 2004 World Masters Athletics Titles in Spain.
A noted speedster he has the rare distinction of playing both in the old State League and BRL before the inception of the NRL.
