Biography

Wests junior played for Dalton and Gunning in the country before making his way back to his parent club. Hines made his first grade debut on the wing for Wests in 1934 before going to Maitland to further his career. The move worked. Hines played for Country and NSW, (scoring 4 tries in the 51-8 thrashing of Queensland) before gaining a place on the 1935 Australian tour of NZ. He appeared in all three Tests on tour, scoring two tries in Australia's 29-8 thrashing of the Kiwis in the Second Test. Hines returned to Wests in 1936 but did not represent again.
