    John was a 1963/64 Kangaroo (no tests) and then captain-coached Souths, and then Estates in the Townsville R/L competition. He also played Foley Shield for Townsville.

    He coached and encouraged schoolboy Rugby League in Townsville in 1964.

    A great mate who has been always humble about his achievements,. A very generous,wonderful family man and excellent role model .

    He was also a surf lifesaver at Coolum. He was a very nice person
