Biography
Outstanding Manly second rower is remembered for his crashing try in the 1968 grand final that kept the Sea Eagles in the hunt against Souths. The lanky forward played in all four matches for NSW in 1965 before gaining selection on Australia's tour of NZ. 'Pogo' Morgan played in two Tests against the Kiwis but contracted hepatitis on his return. It was another five years before Morgan achieved NSW rep honours again but he retired after Manly's loss to Souths in the 1970 grand final due to business commitments. Morgan is the father of giant RU Test forward Garrick Morgan whose foray into the professional game with the South Queensland Crushers in 1995 was not a success.
