Biography
Brisbane Brothers RU product who, with brother Barry Honan, played for the Wallabies (2 Tests) during the mid 1960s. Honan signed with Souths in 1967 and two years later, became a dual international when he played in 2 Tests on the tour of NZ. A snappy centre with a beautiful sidestep, Honan played in four grand finals during 1968-71 (he was a reserve in 1970). Despite being hampered by a series of leg injuries, he signed with Easts in 1973 but the club released him from his two-year contract when he suffered a recurrence of a hamstring injury. Honan made a short-lived comeback with Souths during the club's disastrous 1975 season.
