Col Weiss was a great tackler and earned his place against all odds in the Australian Rugby League team against the bias at the time to NSW players. A gentleman of the game.

Still remember his take of the kickoff in the Brisbane test against the Pommes. Why is it not on YouTube?

I remember watching him play on a cold winters day at Corbett Park. I was in the under 7s at the time. Stuck firm in my brain.

He captained a good Wide Bay team against an Australian side with some of the greats in Bundy. They were competitive. He deserved more matches for Australia.

Played against and marked Col in 1971, for Gympie, lock position, he was a devastating defender, fortunately I managed to gain man of the match for Gympie, and a prise of $20.
I think Col didn't finish the game, unsure why.

Hi Col Weiss I always think of you when I had a year at Brothers in 1973 . You were such a great player especially for the size of you. I now live on the Sunshine Coast at Alex Heads. If you are ever up here ring me Noel Cowell
