Arthur was my uncle and not only was he a great rugby player he was a decent and good man and he is sorely missed by his family. Peace Arthur

World class in attack with a brilliant unselfish double act with Clive Sullivan. In defence his tackling of man and ball was 100% spot on, but his anticipation of opposition breaks was the best I have ever seen in league or union, He saw a danger starting and he swooped and smothered it out of existence. He was even better in defence than JPR Williams of Wales and British Lions RU fame - in other words possibly the best defensive full back ever.

The best fullback I ever saw he could stop anyone with a crunching tackle, you never had any fear if the opposition broke the line with Arthur Keegan still to beat your line was in safe hands. As an attacking force Arthur would regularly link into the threequarter line from a scrum to create the extra man and overlap to create a try. Great man, great player, great coach and gave me my happiest day when Bramley lifted the flodlit trophy in 1973, happy days.
