When Adams led Widnes to victory over Hull KR in the 1981 Challenge Cup Final, that was the last Challenge Cup Final were both sides didn't contain an overseas player.

true gentleman , by todays standard, came to aust & was embraced by many in the tamworth comunity, for his down to earth approach to so many people of all ages , skin colour, & intellect. a legend in his time.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mick Adams in Tamworth during the 80s. We socialised a bit and played many enjoyable games of touch football together. So skilful playing touch footy i can imagine what a fine League player he would have been. Popular with many. A gentleman and someone i consider myself lucky to have met.
