Biography

Wollongong junior proved his utility value with the Dragons at fullback, centre and ultimately halfback. Hornby made his State of Origin debut for NSW in 2004 at fullback but took over the halfback role for his club following the injury to Matthew Head in 2006. After returning to State of Origin duty as an interchange player in the deciding match of the 2006 series he was selected in Australia’s Tri-Nations squad at the end of the year. Hornby made his Test debut as halfback partner to Darren Lockyer in the 23-12 loss to Great Britain in Sydney but did not appear in another match of the series.
