Biography

I’warra junior (Shellharbour) impressed with his debut season for the Dragons in 2000. Bailey used his immense size to good effect and dominated forward clashes as well as developing his ability to offload. Bailey made his State of Origin debut in 2002 and represented Australia in the one-off Test thrashing of the Kiwis in 2003. A decision to undergo surgery to rectify a hearing problem saw him rule himself out of the Kangaroo tour at the end of the year. A pectoral muscle injury hampered his 2004 season after representing Australia in the ANZac Test in Newcastle. Bailey returned to the field in time for his club’s short-lived semi-final charge but was not considered for the Australian squad that won the Tri Nations competition in England. Injuries have prevented him from adding to his rep record and in 2005 he became the first high-profile signing of the G’Coast Titans for the 2007 season.
