Biography
Long-serving Balmain official had the honour as a player of scoring the club's first try and kicking the first goal in a premiership match, in the 24-0 win over Wests in 1908. Latta later became an Australian Test selector.

Alf "Deucas" Latta was representing Balmain in Rugby League and first grade Soccer in 1910. His brothers Charlie played first grade soccer for Bamain, whilst Arthur represented Balmain and NSW at Soccer. Deucas, Whip (aka "Snowy") and their youngest brother Henry were all competitive swimmers in the Balmain swimming league.
