Henry (Joe) Hedge..did play for North Sydney. in 1st grade and also reserve grade,we have a picture of joe hedge in his 1908 Norths kit..Joes 3 borthers, Horace,Edward and Samuel all played for the Neutral Bay A Grade side that won the comp in 1910..The interesting story about joe hedge is that he only had1 hand, a right one..he lost the left hand in an industrial accident, he may have been the only 1st grade player to play without a limb.

The Joe Hedge Junior Award is given to the most improved player in the NSW Physical Disabilily Rugby League Association- KARI Premiership since 2012. This award is given to the player in his honour
