Additional Notes

Played 2 games for Tamworth against the touring New Zealand & English teams in 1919 & 1920 these were played during breaks in the NSWRL competition.

Took a coaching position at Orange(Waratahs) in July 1922 & represented Western Division in 1922, 1923 & 1924, later coached Yeoval in western NSW were he again represented Western NSW against the touring Englishmen in 1928.

His death was reported in the February 1968 edition of Rugby League News. Former teammates Cec Blinkhorn, Frank Rule, Herman Peters and Harry McKinnon acted as pallbearers at his funeral.

    ted taplin was my mothers cousin i would love to know more about him ,and possibly a photo.
    i've only heard him refeard to as ted,does anyone know if that was short for edward.

    Ted coached Peak hill in 1932 - received 4 pounds a week, free board and lodging for him and his wife. Plus a bonus of not less than 10 pounds at the end of September.
