Biography
Rule was a member of the champion Norths backline that won the club's only premierships, in 1921-22. Together with Cec Blinkhorn, Harold Horder and Herman Peters, he was chosen to tour with the 1921-22 Kangaroos - the only time a club's entire three-quarter line has been selected to tour. Unfortunately, Rule had set up his own timber business and pulled out of the tour due to business commitments. The Norths' centre, a State title holder in hurdles, represented NSW in 1923 and in all five matches in 1925 but did not get the chance to represent Australia again.
