Biography
St George prop, the victim of an infamous biting incident, spent 22 weeks in hospital after having his ear bitten in the match against Newtown in 1945. 'Bumper' Farrell, the man accused of biting McRitchie, was cleared and the matter was closed by the NSWRL without ever being resolved. Bill McRitchie was the brother of 1948-49 Kangaroo Doug McRitchie.
