Dally M Rookie Of The Year
1992

Biography

NSW Country junior (West Belconnen, West Wyalong, Cootamundra and Singleton) starred at halfback during the Knights’ breakthrough semi-final appearances in 1992. Named 'Norwich Rising Star' and 'Dally M' Rookie of the Year, 1993 was a disappointment and he did not play first grade in 1994 while waiting to play in Perth in their debut season. The demise of the W’Reds at the start of the unified 1998 season saw Rodwell move to St George, where he was the regular first grade halfback. The club’s merger with I’warra, however, saw Trent Barrett secure the top halfback spot and Rodwell moved to Penrith. One of the form players in the Panthers’ semi-final season, Rodwell seemed to be heading for retirement in 2001 until Warrington signed him to a one-year contract and named him club captain for 2002.
