Match Notes
Varying news reports put the crowd figure for this match between 6000 and 10000. Hull's captain was Lampriere. The Hull Daily Mail report of this match mentions "Whittle" for St Helens and he was credited with narrowly missing a drop goal which struck the upright. The Saints Heritage Society seems to believe this was in fact Bill Whiteley and there is no record of a "Whittle" playing for St Helens until the late 1960's, however Irvin Saxton's records have "Whittle" at number 2 for this match.
