In 1985 Baker was Dally M Five-Eigth of the Year.Baker also finished Third in the Dally Ms in 1984 and 1985 as well.

Scored one of great tries in 1986 V Manly at Redfern. Breaks the line, much past Shearer and regathering to score. Ray warren the commentator makes it a memory never forgotten.

Neil Baker was a revelation for Salford in Super League. Fans still talk about THAT try against Castleford, an 80 yarder chipping over the defence and collecting twice along the way. A real class act.

Neil Baker was brilliant stand off for Salford....I was 15 when I watched him and he would off graced any team

Neil Baker was quite prolific in kicking field goals - tallying up a massive 20 in the 1986 season !
In those days, low scores were common and so field goals were used more than the current era
