Grew up with Glen & his brothers in Nineteenth St, Warragamba. He is the youngest of four sons to John & Mary Nissen. A very much liked & respected family at Warragamba.

During 1984 young Glen took a complete year off from football to do weight training under the watchful eye of Penrith trainer Ron Oxley. During this time he went from a skinny talanted kid to the well built athlete that we all remember. I remember during one off-season Glen and one of his mates ran from Perth across the Nullabor.

He taught me at school. Great mentor. He told I could be anything I wanted to be and to follow my dreams. Without him believing in me I never would have got to where I am today. Thank you Mr. Nissen I am so incredibly grateful for everything you did for me
