Mark Hohn

Darling Downs product, an Australian Schoolboy rep in 1981, started his grade career with Brisbane Valleys before transferring to the Broncos in 1988. Hohn, who had spent a season with English club Hunslet in 1986-87, was a reserve forward in Brisbane's initial grand final win in 1992 before taking his place in the World Club Challenge win over Wigan. The following year he made his State of Origin debut and made it back-to-back premierships with the Broncos. A reserve forward in the first match of Queensland's 1994 State of Origin campaign, he made a good impression in the final two matches of the series. Hohn had to overcome a fitness test to take his place as a reserve forward in the one-off Test against France at P’matta but his end of season form wavered and he missed a place on the Kangaroo tour. He was one of the South Queensland Crushers' major signings for the 1995 season but despite being a reserve forward in Queensland’s Origin whitewash that year, Hohn retired at the end of the season to concentrate on his work commitments.
