Max Anderson had a successful career as a Queensland Police Officer serving initially in the Stock Squad in Charliville.
Originally hailing from Springsure Max played in country Queensland centres in Springsure; Charliville and Rockhampton before moving to Brisbane where he had several successful seasons with Brothers.
Max appeared for In interstate series from 1970-73 and also played against the Great Britian side.
His professional career as a Police Officer interfered with his goal of playing for Australia and once was named in the Australian squad for a World Cup match. (Match with drew due to work commitments)
His work as a Police Officer seen Max return to Rockhampton where he continued to play for Norths before injury prematurely ended his playing days.
Max was only 26 when he retired from Rugby League.
Max still resides in Rockhampton.

A BRILLIANT FAST ATTACKING PLAYER WITH TREMENDOUS STRENGTH.WAS A VERY FIT PLAYER OF THAT TIME.

Max had a great deal of natural ability. Craig Bellamy would have turned Max into a regular Test player if Max was playing today.

RIP Max. Max Anderson passed In Rockhampton 28/1/2022.

Sadly Max passed this life in January 2022. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

Max first played for Fitzroys upon returning to Rockhampton, before later joining Norths.
