Biography

Inverell centre/forward and Junior Kangaroo joined Cronulla in 2002 after three injury-plagued seasons on the northern peninsula. In 2003 the second row forward shifted to the centres – a move which saw him gain State of Origin and Test selection. Following NSW’s series win Bailey made his Test debut against NZ as an interchange player in the 30-16 loss at North Harbour in October. On the Kangaroo Tour that year Bailey appeared in three matches, including the First Test of the Ashes series against Great Britain. A fractured eye socket after an accidental clash with team-mate Michael Crocker in the 22-18 Test win at Wigan prematurely ended his tour. A return to the second row at Cronulla in 2004 did not pay dividends and Bailey was overlooked for rep duty during the Shark’s inconsistent season under new coach Stuart Raper. In 2006 he signed with English Super League club Wigan.

Top player especially in the 2003 season !
Tall , strong and skilful player , with deceptive pace over 50 m
Should’ve played a lot more representative footy , was a proper utility able to play most positions on the field well but second row and centre were his best
