Additional Notes
Immigrated to New Zealand with his brother Thomas in 1908. Sam became a referee and prominent administrator of the game in New Zealand. In 1914, he was called into the touring Northern Union (Great Britain) team (which was managed by his father Joseph) to play against Wellington during an injury crisis. He died in Waipawa in 1932.
