Souths lost McCarthy, Walters, Pittard & Heiler all on Saturday due to the flu they were replaced by Buddy Cain at Fullback with Claude Williams moving from fullback to wing, John Bringolf, Greg Norgard & Mick Byrne.
John Sattler also suffering from the flu & Gary Stevens with a gashed eye were replaced at halftime by Gordon Fraser & Tom Lyons.
