Ron Raper dropped out of the Canterbury team and was replaced by Col Greenwood.
Les Perry suffered a bad gash to his head after 2 mins of play and was replaced by Max Brown with Bob Doyle moving to 5/8, Doug Kelly to centre and Brown to the wing, at halftime Alan Wells replaced Doug Kelly with Col Greenwood moving to the centre & Wells to lock.
South replaced Paul Sait & Ray Branighan at halftime with Ron Coote & Arthur Branighan.
