Canterbury lost hooker Nev Hornery with a bruised chest on Monday he was replaced by Greg Purcell & Garry Dowling with an ankle injury with Chris Anderson moving to fullback & Les Ewing coming in on the wing.
For Easts Bill Mullins withdrew with a hamstring injury and was replaced by Jim Porter.
