Match Notes
Max Brown had to withdraw from the Manly team due to an incident when trying to catch a ferry at Mosman wharf when he tried to jump onto the ferry and hit the rail and knocked out a tooth and cut his mouth he was replaced by Bill Clare.
Harold Stringer withdrew from the Canterbury team as clearance from his English club Leigh had not been made so Terry Murphy took his place.
Mal Reilly injured his ribs midway through the 2nd half and was replaced by Peter Peters.
Dennis Manteit was sent off for a high tackle 10 mins into the 2nd half, Bill Noonan replaced Henry Tatana in the 2nd half & Stan Cutler replaced Bernie Lowther who had a corked thigh.
Ken irvine became the first player to score 200 first grade tries in this game.
